Ward, Morris & Kuchaslo named KIJHL 3 Stars

 

 

Jonathan Ward (Princeton Posse), Andrew Morris (Chase Heat) and Jozef Kuchaslo (Revelstoke Grizzlies) have been selected the Hudl Instat Kootenay International Junior Hockey League 3 Stars of the Week for the period ending Dec 10.

Ward – Top Forward – The Kamloops product helped the Posse earn a pair of wins with a four-goal, two assist weekend. Ward scored his seventh of the season into an empty net to secure a 4-2 victory over the Castlegar Rebels. On Dec. 9, Ward scored three, including a short-handed goal and added two assists in their 6-2 win over the Osoyoos Coyotes. In 25 games, Ward has 10 goals and 21 points. 

Morris – Top Defenceman – The Beaumont, Alta., product had a goal and two assists and was a plus-three in three games, while playing for the Revelstoke Grizzlies and Heat. With the Grizzlies, Morris assisted on a goal that gave his team a 2-1 lead en route to a 5-3 win. He was then traded to the Heat and assisted on the opening goal in a 4-0 win over Summerland. Morris then scored his first goal with the Heat – also his first KIJHL goal, in a 5-1 loss to the Storm. In 15 games this season, Morris has a goal and five points.

Kuchaslo – Top Goalie – The Mission, B.C. product helped the Grizzlies earn a pair of wins over Kamloops and 100 Mile House. Against the Storm on Dec. 5, Kuchaslo stopped 44 shots in a 5-3 win, then against 100 Mile House on Dec. 8, he stopped 28 of 29 shots in a 5-1 win. Over the two games, Kuchaslo made 72 saves on 76 shots for a .947 save percentage and a 2.00 goals against average. Kuchaslo has 10 wins in 15 games with a league-best .939 SP and a 1.67 GAA that is second in the league. This is the second Top Goalie selection for Kuchaslo, who first earned the honour on Nov. 5.
