Langdon, Fisher & Shebansky named KIJHL 3 Stars



Matthew Langdon (Princeton Posse), Cole Fisher (Fernie Ghostriders) and Ethan Shebansky (Grand Forks Border Bruins) have been selected the Hudl Instat Kootenay International Junior Hockey League 3 Stars of the Week for the period ending March 3/24.

Langdon РTop Forward РThe Sherwood Park, Alta., product had three goals and three assists in three games to help the Posse win its series against the Kelowna Chiefs in five games. In Game 2, Langdon scored in the Posse’s 2-1 overtime loss in Kelowna on Feb. 26. On Feb. 27, Langdon scored the game-winner and added two assists, then in Game 5, the 6-2, 178-pound forward had a goal and an assist. Langdon was plus-five over those games and blocked three shots. Langdon had 16 points in 18 regular season games after debuting with the Posse on Dec. 8. He has six points in four KIJHL Teck Cup playoff games.

Fisher – Top Defenceman – The Sherwood Park, Alta., product scored two goals and added two assists in three games for the Ghostriders, helping them win their series against the Creston Valley Thunder Cats in five games. On Feb. 27, Fisher had a goal and assist in their 6-5 overtime win and in Game 5 on March 1, Fisher scored the first goal and assisted on the 2-1 goal en route to a 4-3 win. He was a plus-three and blocked six shots. Fisher is second on the Ghostriders with four points in five games.

Shebansky – Top Goalie – The Edmonton, Alta., product won all three of his starts to help the Border Bruins win their series against the Nelson Leafs in five games, stopping 108 of 112 shots for a 1.28 goals against average and a .964 save percentage. On Feb. 27, he stopped 38 of 40 shots in a 5-2 Border Bruins win. The 6-4, 187-pound goalie helped the Border Bruins clinch the series with a 33-save shutout performance in a 3-0 win. In five playoff games, Shebansky is 4-1-0 with a 1.49 GAA and a .955 SP. This is the second time that Shebansky has been named the Top Goalie.
