The Kootenay International Junior Hockey League’s Princeton Posse are pleased to announce the hiring of Torrin White as their Head Coach and General Manager.
White joins the Posse after spending four seasons coaching at the Southern Alberta Hockey Academy, including as Head Coach of the U17 Prep team during the 2023-24 season. He has also worked in a variety of scouting and consulting roles with the Western Hockey League’s Moose Jaw Warriors and Medicine Hat Tigers, and has coached at the Alberta Cup U15 provincial camp.
“The opportunity to have Torrin join the Posse as our Head Coach and General Manager is exceptional for our club,” says Posse Head of Operations Mark McNaughton. “We have the potential to return a fantastic group of athletes and young men this season, and finding the right leadership for this group and the future was key in our search. Torrin has proven that he is not only an incredibly detailed and prepared coach, but also balances the stewardship of his players and programs at a level that is second to none. His forward-thinking vision for our team is in perfect alignment with both our organizational objectives and the KIJHL’s transition to Junior A status.”
White’s playing career spanned more than 250 games with the WHL’s Moose Jaw Warriors as well as four seasons in USports with the University of Lethbridge Pronghorns.
“I am beyond grateful for the opportunity to become a part of the Princeton community,” says White. “I’m looking forward to contributing alongside the staff and players to continue building on the success of the program, as well as providing an environment where our players can grow, develop, and have an unbelievable experience while playing for the Princeton Posse. I’m excited to meet our players and work towards a special season with what appears to be a special group. My wife and I look forward to making Princeton our new home.”
The Posse will make further announcements regarding preparations for the upcoming season, including main camp dates and registration info, in the coming weeks.
