Sean Mitchell (Princeton Posse), Cam Reid (Kimberley Dynamiters) and Roderic May (Chase Heat) have been selected the Instat KIJHL 3 Stars of the Week for the period ending Jan. 1, 2023.
Mitchell – Top Forward – The Calahoo, Alberta product enjoyed a four-point performance that included scoring the winning goal in a 6-2 victory over the Princeton Posse. Mitchell gave the Posse a 3-1 lead with 45 seconds remaining in the first period in Osoyoos. Mitchell is third on the Posse in points with 26 in 26 games. He has established new career highs in goals and assists this season.
Reid – Top Defenceman – The Kimberley product helped his hometown team win both its games against Fernie during the Christmas Classic. Reid had a goal and four points. Reid is second on the Dynamiters with 30 points in 28 games and those totals rank him second among defencemen in the KIJHL.
May – Top Goalie – The Salmon Arm product turned aside 46 of 47 shots in a 2-1 win over the Revelstoke Grizzlies on Dec. 31. The only shot May wasn’t able to stop came in the first period when he faced 18 shots. May has five wins on the season and needs three to equal his career high of eight from last season. May has a 4.38 GAA and a .890 SP.
