Lario, Harwood, Rau named Instat KIJHL October 3 Stars

 

Jordan Lario (Golden Rockets), Hunter Harwood (Osoyoos Coyotes) and Ethan Rau (Princeton Posse) have been selected as the Instat Kootenay International Junior Hockey League 3 Stars of the Month for October.

Lario – Top Forward – The Cranbrook product scored 12 goals and added 14 assists in 13 games to help the Rockets win eight games. Against North Okanagan on Sept. 30, Lario netted the winner and enjoyed a two-goal, four-point performance. Lario notched two more game-winners – Oct. 8 against Creston Valley and Oct. 28 against the 100 Mile House Wranglers.  He had nine multi-point games, including five straight from Sept. 30 to Oct. 14 in which he collected 15 points.

Harwood – Top Defenceman – The Kelowna product had six goals and 11 assists in 11 games for the Coyotes to help them win six games. Harwood had five multi-point performances, coming in consecutive games, including a goal (game-winner) and five points in their 12-2 win over the Kelowna Chiefs. He started the season on an eight-game points streak. He played a season-high 31:46 against the Sicamous Eagles on Oct. 7, collecting two assists, including on the winning goal.

Rau – Top Goalie – The Calgary product had five wins and a shutout in seven games for the Posse in 425 minutes of action. He stopped 219 of 232 shots for a .944 save percentage and a 1.84 goals against average. Rau started the season with three straight wins against the Chase Heat, Kelowna Chiefs and Summerland Steam. He earned two more wins against the North Okanagan Knights, a 35-save performance for his first KIJHL shutout, and against the Kimberley Dynamiters.
