KIJHL announces its Stars of the Week (April 26)

The Kootenay International Junior Hockey League (KIJHL) is pleased to announce its Stars of the Week for the period ending April 26. 

Forward – Justice Loewen – Princeton Posse

The Calgary native broke out against the Kimberley Dynamiters for a three-goal, five-point performance in a 6-4 win April 25 that gave them a 3-2 series lead in the KIJHL Cup Final. Loewen played an average of 19:23 a game in the three games and had a +7 rating. Loewen leads the KIJHL playoffs with 32 points in 23 games.

Defence – Ben Dods – Princeton Posse

The Chilliwack native averaged over 25 minutes a game to help the Posse take a 3-2 series lead in the KIJHL Cup Final. He scored an overtime winner in Game 3, then collected an assist in their 6-4 win in Kimberley. Dods had a +1 rating. In 23 playoff games, Dods has five goals and 15 points, which leads all Posse defencemen.

Goalie – Gibson Horne – Princeton Posse

The Lac Des Arcs, Alta., native was excellent helping the Posse get back in the KIJHL Cup Final as two of his three wins came by shutout – both at the Princeton & District Arena in 1-0 wins. He made a combined 69 saves in those victories, while stopping 94 of 98 shots for a 1.32 goals against average and a .959 save percentage in the three games. Horne has 15 wins with a 2.35 GAA and a .929 SP.
