The Princeton Posse are excited to announce that goaltender Carter Woodside has joined the Prince George Spruce Kings of the BCHL for the remainder of the 2019-2020 season. The Asquith Saskatchewan native’s stay in Princeton was short but sweet. In that time Woodside backstopped the Posse to wins in every appearance and was able to go up for stretches at both the WHL level with the Prince George Cougars and the BCHL with the Merritt Centennials.
“We are very happy for Carter, our team and KIJHL prides itself on being a platform for players to reach the next level and he is a prime example of that. He was a player who just needed a chance to prove himself and get noticed and he got that opportunity here. Carter is an outstanding young man and better goaltender; we know he will do well moving forward.” GM Mark McNaughton
Carter joined the Spruce Kings this past Friday and saw 30 minutes of action stopping all 12 shots he faced. Prior to his departure Carter had the following to say about the Posse program.
“My time in Princeton was amazing. The Posse gave me a chance and accepted me into the team when no one else would. The organization is first class, the coaches made it fun to come to the rink everyday, while pushing us to be our best.”
