ACHA Drury University adds mobile Posse blueliner Sterling-Ponech

Grady Sterling-Ponech of the Princeton Posse has committed to play for the Drury University Panthers, based in Springfield, Mo., in the American Collegiate Hockey Association this fall.

“I’m excited to commit to Drury University and I wouldn’t have been able to do this without my time in the KIJHL, all the support I have received from my family and teammates, billet family, and the rest of the Posse organization,” said Sterling-Ponech.

The Lethbridge, Alta., native led the Posse blueline in points with 39 in 44 games this season.

“I think my offensive game improved this year,” said Sterling-Ponech. “I had more confidence with the puck and video sessions with our coaching staff helped with my confidence and awareness.”

Over three seasons with the Posse, Sterling-Ponech played 96 career regular season KIJHL games and registered 63 points. He added another 17 points in 52 career playoff games. He helped the Posse reach the Teck Cup Final in 2022-23.
