Posse Pick up their First Win of the Season

September 20th at the Shulus Community Arena, Merritt BC.

The 2019-2020 version of the Princeton Posse picked up their first win of the regular season.  This was a home game for the Posse but played in Merritt, BC as the Princeton Arena has been plagued by mechanical issues through the start of the hockey season.

The Posse looked like a team that was ready to roll from start to finish.  Brendan Adams opened the scoring for the Posse at 16:04 of the first period, the remainder of the first went back and forth until Kyle Crisp netted his first career KIJHL marker at 2:47.  In the second and third the home crew maintained their dominance allowing just 8 shots in the 2 periods combined.  Colby Rhodes found his way on to the score sheet with 2 goals in the second period, good enough to earn him the Home Star of the night.  Aubrey MacLeod added one more insurance marker on a nice wrap around play in the third.  Darby Berg scored Castlegars lone goal on the night.

"We worked all week preparing to finish our scoring chances in tight.  Nothing makes a coach happier than seeing a young group work hard and get rewarded." - HC Mark McNaughton

Dom Bosa was in net and came up with every stop he needed to including numerous point blank chances early in the game and a quick breakaway from Castlegar's JJ Adams in the second period.

Next up for the Princeton Posse:

Friday September 27th at the Kimberley Dynamiters, 7:00 PM Start

Saturday September 28th at the Fernie Ghostriders, 7:30 PM Start
